POSITION DETAILS
Kingsborough Community College of the City University of New York, located on the Manhattan Beach waterfront in Brooklyn, New York, seeks an experiencedExecutive Director of Finance and Business Operations. This position oversees and is responsible for the efficient management of all facets of the Business Office, including accounting and purchasing, bursar, fixed assets, and operational services.
The Executive Director reports to the Vice President for Finance and Administration and is a critical partner in the strategic management and development of Kingsborough?s resources. The incumbent will lead a talented and experienced team of 9 direct reports (College Controller, Accounts Payables Manager, Purchasing Director, Bursar, Property Manager, Central Receiving, Mailroom, and Print Shop), and oversee a department of 33 business and finance staff.
The Executive Director develops and implements fiscal procedures, protocols and controls, and works closely with CUNY's Controller's office, and the Research Foundation. They will also partner closely with internal stakeholders including the Offices of Enrollment Management, Financial Aid, Academic and Student Affairs, Advancement, and operations offices in the Division of Administration and Finance.
The successful candidate will be a strong, collaborative leader with excellent communication skills. The Executive Director must be a competent decision maker who is able to efficiently analyze information and assess issues to serve the needs of the academic and non-academic areas.
Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Works closely with the Vice President for Finance and Administration in planning, developing and implementing college financial plans and strategies.
Responsible for all college financial reporting, including periodic financial closings, reconciliations, and analyses.
Oversees internal and external financial audits.
Administers and ensures compliance with college and university fiscal policies.
Works closely with the Financial Aid Office to allocate and analyze enrollment trends and financial aid distributions.
Ensures proper review and control of all procurement transactions.
Liaises with CUNY and State Officials about financial reports and policies.
Ensures compliance with all appropriate City, State, Federal and GAAP accounting and regulatory policies.
Oversees the collection of tuition and fees, and tuition revenue analyses.
Supervises and develops finance staff in the College Controller?s Office, Bursar, Purchasing, Accounts Payable, Auxiliary Services, and Fixed Assets areas.
Ensures the proper implementation of University-wide financial and accounting systems on the campus.
Performs other related duties as assigned by the Vice President for Finance and Administration.
QUALIFICATIONS
This position is in CUNY's Executive Compensation Plan. All executive positions require a minimum of a Bachelor's degree and eight years' related experience.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
$165,000 - $175,000
