Founded in 1913, Virginia Mirror began as a mirror producer for furniture manufacturers in Virginia and North Carolina before expanding into fabricated and stock sheet mirrors, largely for use in multi-family construction. Through multiple expansions and the installation of a state-of-the-art 500-foot silvering line, Virginia Mirror has grown into a leader in the mirror industry, operating from a 176,000-square-foot manufacturing and warehouse facility in Martinsville, Virginia. Virginia Glass was founded in 1956 as one of the first glass temperers in the U.S. Today, it manufactures custom all-glass interior entrance doors, architectural tempered glass, frameless shower enclosures, and laminated glass for the commercial and residential construction markets. Production is based in Ridgeway, Virginia, within a 110,000-square-foot facility equipped with advanced CNC cutting lines, tempering furnaces, laminating operations, and full-service glass fabrication capabilities.
POSITION FUNCTION: The Vice President of Finance will serve as the senior finance leader of the organization, overseeing financial strategy & planning, forecasting, data analysis for various operational and sales initiatives, and managing the finance team and financial reporting, while partnering closely with the CEO. This leader will play a critical role in strengthening financial visibility, improving reporting cadence and accuracy, and introducing forward-looking analytics that drive profitable growth and support strategic decision-making. INTERFACES WITH: The Vice President of Finance will work closely with and report to the CEO, with regular interaction across operations, sales, and functional leadership. This individual will serve as a key financial partner to both management and ownership, ensuring alignment between financial performance, operational execution, and strategic priorities. Primary Roles and Responsibilities Include: Strategic Finance • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes aligned with business objectives. • Develop financial models, performance metrics, and analytical tools that improve strategic and operational decision-making. • Partner with leadership to evaluate cost structures, margins, and profitability drivers. • Provide forward-looking insights related to revenue, pricing, cost management, and cash flow & working capital. Accounting and Financial Leadership • Oversee accounting and financial reporting activities, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to appropriate controls and policies. • Directly manage and support the Controller, establishing accountability and reporting discipline. • Drive improvements in close processes, reporting timelines, and overall financial rigor. • Maintain integrity of financial statements in partnership with external auditors and advisors. Performance Management • Link financial data to operational drivers, productivity metrics, and cost behavior. • Establish KPIs, dashboards, and reporting tools that improve visibility into plant and business performance. • Support initiatives focused on margin improvement, cost optimization, and resource allocation. Team Leadership & Functional Development
• Provide leadership and structure for the finance function, fostering accountability, consistency, and continuous improvement. • Develop strong working relationships across departments, reinforcing a collaborative and data-driven culture. • Act as a financially oriented partner for the CEO as he drives strategic initiatives. CORE COMPETENCIES: 1) Accounting and Finance Excellence: The ideal candidate will have a four-year degree, preferably in finance or accounting, with 8+ years of hands-on experience in a fast-paced finance function, ideally through progressively advanced roles in public accounting and a relevant industry. 2) Industry Relevance: The ideal candidate will bring extensive leadership experience within manufacturing, building products, distribution, or broader industrial environments. 3) Strategic Capability: The ideal candidate will have proven ability to provide strategic insight and recommendations on financial performance, with a demonstrated track record of supporting and improving budgeting & forecasting processes, KPI development, and performance analysis. 4) Team Building and Leadership: The ideal candidate will be a hands-on finance leader with experience leading, managing, or mentoring finance and accounting professionals, both directly and indirectly. 5) Operational Orientation: The ideal candidate excels at working cross-functionally and will have a demonstrated ability to connect financial outcomes to operational drivers, supporting efficiency, cost management, and margin improvement initiatives. PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS: The candidate selected for this position will be a pragmatic, analytically rigorous finance leader who is comfortable operating in a dynamic, entrepreneurial manufacturing environment. This individual will possess strong interpersonal skills, a direct communication style, and the ability to engage constructively with a close-knit leadership team.
