The Department of Hospital Finance at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time Director of Finance. The successful candidate will:
Plan, organize and manage the financial operations of the hospital including financial planning, budgeting, analysis, and revenue cycle functions.
Proactively advise and educate staff about financial aspects and impacts on clinical operations and services.
Develop, interpret, and communicate hospital policies for finance, accounting, budgeting, insurance, financial/accounting systems, reimbursement and revenue cycle, internal controls, and auditing.
Provide input to and support financial initiatives to support hospital based clinical operations and service lines.
Ensure hospital compliance with planning deadlines and SUNY and State reporting measures.
Ensure internal and external deadlines are met for financial statements, audits, cost reports, etc.
Evaluate the financial statement close process for improvement opportunities.
Participate in managing and developing Decision Support/Cost Accounting Program.
Bachelor’s Degree required and preferred in Accounting, Business or Finance.
Certified Public Accountant
Monday to Friday; 8:00am to 4:30pm
