Brief Job Overview/Summary
Stockton University seeks applicants for a full-time, 10-month, tenure track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor of Finance, to begin September 1, 2026. Under the direction of the Dean of the School of Business, the Assistant Professor of Finance will fulfill all of the responsibilities and expectations of Stockton faculty as outlined in the University Policies and Procedures for Faculty Evaluation.
Descriptions of Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Specifically the faculty member will serve in the following ways at Stockton:
Offer courses in the faculty member's program and in the General Studies curriculum
Serve as a preceptor to students
Participate in professional activities, scholarship and/or creative activities as appropriate to the discipline
Provide service to the University, community and profession
Perform other duties as designated by the Dean of the School of Business or the Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs
Required Qualifications:
An earned doctorate in Finance, Financial Planning or a related discipline or a Juris Doctorate. *ABD candidates will be considered
Certified Financial Planner Certification
Evidence of potential for teaching, research and service in the field of Finance
*NOTE: ABD candidates will be hired at the Instructor level until the doctoral degree is completed. Doctoral degree must be conferred within one (1) academic year of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
Related industry work experience and potential for research in the Finance and/or Financial Planning field
Exposure to or experience within the Liberal Arts
Experience with assessment and/or AACSB accreditation
Preference will be given to Finance scholars who have demonstrated excellence in teaching
