This would also be the main, permanent location out of which the roles will be based long-term. Positions are permanent, immediately available and do not require any travel. 

Telecommuting benefit (i.e., work from home) available. In these roles, be advised Investment Processes Group Associates must be onsite, working at the above-named employer address and headquarters location, at least three days each week. Apart from this requirement, Investment Processes Group Associates may telecommute and work remotely from home up to two days each week. Note it is currently permissible, however (due to various regulations and policies), to telecommute and work remotely from home only from the following four New England states: Massachusetts; Rhode Island; New Hampshire; or Connecticut. Individuals occupying these roles must therefore live in one of those four local states. Job Duties: Serve in the Investment Processes Group Team with focus in optimization methods in regards to portfolio construction, portfolio finance, and trade programming. The team is responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, and enhancing technology that supports the firm’s highly-automated portfolio and trading systems. Those in this role are responsible for researching optimization methods used in finance and other fields; translating Arrowstreet’s investment goals into mathematical problems that can be programmed into a computer; and designing diagnostic tools to help users understand how Arrowstreet’s investment ideas are expressed in our computer-driven trading program. Other responsibilities include designing and implementing algorithms to minimize transaction costs; writing and maintaining code to solve portfolio construction, portfolio finance, and trade execution problems; understanding and improving the workflow of security borrowing and collateral management; working with software developers to translate business knowledge and mathematical skills into production-quality code; and, effectively communicating with investment professionals (including traders, portfolio managers, and data analysts) with varying technical backgrounds.

Note that Investment Processes Group Associates do not constitute supervisory roles over others within the firm. These positions, rather, to be clear and forthright disclaim, they do not have subordinate, direct reports. The roles, rather, within this employer’s internal job hierarchy, they function as hands-on, individual contributors, principally responsible for technical process development and operational support.  Investment Processes Group Associates, in short, to again disclaim, they do not manage other Arrowstreet personnel.

Full-time positions; base annual salaries ranging from $150,000.00 to $260,000.00 per year. They require a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in a quantitative financial field, including applied mathematics, finance, economics, mathematical finance, operations research, financial engineering, computational finance, or a closely-related discipline. They also require knowledge, demonstrated through coursework, of the following: (a) financial markets and asset pricing; (b) mathematics, probability and statistics, including linear regression; (c) numerical optimization algorithms, including convex programming; and (d) using at least one of the following languages for programming, to wit: (1) “C”; or (2) “C#”; or (3) “C++”; or (4) Python; or (5) MATLAB; or (6) “R”.
