Incumbent is responsible for provider recruitment programs for UCI School of Medicine physicians, including employed and contracted providers. Provides consultation, support, leadership, strategic oversight, and tactical management to identify, attract, and hire the highest quality practitioners in partnership with Department Chairs/Clinical leaders and UCI SOM Senior Leadership. Works in collaboration with organizational leaders to assess current and future workforce needs, and design provider recruitment strategies to meet short-term and long-term goals. Serves as liaison with university personnel and the community at large, operating responsibly per legal and regulatory compliance standards. Manages professional academic HR staff in an academic unit, providing guidance to subordinates to achieve goals in accordance with established policies. Reviews and approves recommendations for functional programs.
What It Takes to be Successful
Required Qualifications:
Working knowledge and understanding of HR and related databases
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)
Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to build and work successfully in teams
Strong decision making, analytical, problem solving, critical thinking, and resource management skills
Previous experience leading a small team
Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
Minimum 5 years' experience working in provider recruitment, preferably in Academics
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Excellent knowledge of organizational and university policies and operational procedures
Demonstrated ability to be innovative and develop creative solutions
Broad knowledge of complex personnel, compensation, and related policies and procedures for academic employees
Bachelor's degree in Business, Health Administration, Marketing, Human Resources, or related field
Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
Preferred Qualifications:
Understanding of institutional goals, priorities, and values regarding academic excellence, diversity
Member of AAPPR
Master's degree in Business, Health Administration, Marketing, Human Resources, or related field
Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
Experience in provider recruitment
CPRP certification
