The position reports to SVP, Group Head of Treasury, and is responsible for leading the Butterfield Cayman Treasury Trading operations in support of the SVP, Group Head of Treasury and the Group’s Commercial objectives. The position supports the SVP, Group Head of Treasury in maintaining a robust liquidity framework through effective funding and ensuring effective cash management techniques/Nostro positions.
Your responsibilities will include:
Leading the Regional Treasury processes to ensure efficient implementation, management and continued development of and control of Regional Treasury systems requirements.
Managing FX flows across Cayman within agreed limits and regulatory requirements.
Managing Deposit and Money Market activity across the jurisdiction and within agreed limits and regulatory requirements.
Maximising the profitability of the Bank through active management of the Banks liquidity and FX positions.
Supporting the Group Head of Treasury in managing external correspondents, counterparties, brokers and other services providers.
Maintaining a robust liquidity framework and ensuring effective management of risks relating to financing and operational activities, in accordance with Regional and Group Treasury policy.
Supporting the management of relationships with local regulators and ratings agencies where required.
Continuously developing one’s own technical knowledge of Treasury in the context of the Financial Services arena and ensuring the effective cross training of FX and Deposit/Money Market staff.
Continuing to develop knowledge of FX, Derivatives and Money Market environments.
Supporting the Group Head of Treasury (and where required, deputising for) in product pricing development initiatives and liaising with all business units across the Group.
Continuing to improve internal reporting processes.
Ensuring effective oversight of investment activity to maximise yield and enhance liquidity.
Deputising where required for the Group Head of Treasury in ALCO meetings and provision of required reporting.
Maintaining close relationships with all client facing departments to assist in maintaining and developing client relationships, including oversight and direction of pricing.
Actively provide market related information to assist in lending and savings product development and design;
Ensuring standardisation of external bank documentation (ISDA’s, GMRA’s, GMSLA’s etc)

A strong track record at a senior treasury level either within a comparable retail or commercial bank or a substantial financial institution.
Substantial experience of dealing in the wholesale financial markets.
Hands on experience and knowledge of investment and rate risk management products.
Ability to manage broader policy issues as well as take a hands-on approach.
Experience of treasury activity in a regulated organisation.
Excellent communicator and have a proven track record in building and maintaining banking relationships.
