POSITION DETAILS
The Finance Budget Specialist will report to the Dean of the Division of Interdisciplinary Studies of at The City College of New York. In addition to the CUNY title Overview, the Finance Budget Specialist duties include but are not limited to the following:
- Manage and maintain department fiscal plans and budgets including payroll, procurement,p-card and CUNYfirst
- Responsible for administering and managing the allocation of funds from multiple funding sources
- Plan and develop annual budgets under direction, administer allocation and reconciliation of funds
- Prepare budget analysis and forecasting projections and assist with marketing analysis
- Analyze spending, income trends and usage to recommend improvements
- Ensure that final approved budgets are adhered to by tracking revenues and expenses and processing budget transfers and adjustments
- Provide regular fiscal reports and financial statements and track timely payment of monthly bills
- Manage purchasing cards and monthly reconciliations
- Collect data, prepare and distribute reports and presentations using word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software
- Perform competitive analysis related to course offerings and costs
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree and four years' related experience required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Relevant experience in budget and financial analysis; familiarity with CUNY funding, including: Tax Levy, CUNY Research Foundation a plus
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to establish priorities, manage multiple priorities, work with a high degree of accuracy and meet multiple simultaneous deadlines
- Experience with managing budgets that comprise multiple funding sources required. Grant management experience strongly preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- CUNY budget experience a plus
Candidates will be required to provide proof of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 upon commencing employment. Exemption (medical or religious) requests to this requirement will be considered in accordance with applicable law. Being fully vaccinated is defined for this purpose as being at least two weeks past their final dose of an authorized COVID-19 vaccine regimen. Final candidates must be fully vaccinated as of their first day of employment.
Until further notice, this is a hybrid position, eligible to work remotely and work in the office.
