Placement and duration The Finance Division reports to Morgan Stanley's Chief Financial Officer. It is the guardian of the firm's books and records and serves as an advisor to Morgan Stanley's various businesses and senior management team. In addition, the Division is a major contributor to reducing and managing risk across the firm. The Tax department is responsible for the firm's corporate tax affairs. This includes income tax and indirect tax reporting and tax compliance activities, management of tax audits and relationships with tax authorities, tax transfer pricing policy and serving as a trusted advisor to the firm and its business units on tax matters. The Tax department also oversee tax risk management and firm tax planning including support of strategic transactions. This is a full-time internship, starting in June 2024 for three - six months. Training programme You will receive on-the-job training and benefit from working alongside experienced professionals on a variety of projects.
Role and Responsibilities As a Finance Intern in Tax, your responsibilities may include:
Preparing financial reports covering tax components for senior management and external stakeholders
Conducting re-engineering projects to review and enhance processes
Using analytical tools to determine current and potential exposure to tax risk
Qualifications and Skills
You are currently studying a Bachelor's degree in Law at a university based in Frankfurt, Germany and are on track to complete with at least a Gut (2.0)
You have a desire to work in Finance, particularly within the financial services industry
You can fluently communicate in English and German languages, both verbally and in writing
You enjoy quantitative tasks and analysis with close attention to detail
You have the ability to use Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel and Word You like working within team projects and are client service orientated
