Department Profile
The Finance Division reports to the Chief Financial Officer and consists of some 2,500 employees worldwide. Finance protects the Morgan Stanley franchise by serving as guardian of the Firm's books and records, and by contributing to Firmwide risk management and risk reduction. This division maintains relationships with Morgan Stanley's various industry and government regulators, and also serves as the conduit of financial information to the outside investment community. Finance plays a critical role as advisor to Morgan Stanley's various businesses and its senior management team.
The Asia Brokerage Clearing & Exchange Team is responsible for the financial control, management and reporting of Asia Pacific and Japan trading Fees covering Equity, Fixed Income and Commodities Businesses. The team covers 17 markets in Asia across diverse Infrastructure, multiple and complex fee structures and various business and regulatory models. Due to the complexity of these unique fee structures and varied settlement models, the role requires effective partnership with key stakeholders across the Firm but primarily within the region with SMEs most familiar with Asia Markets to be able to effectively manage the BC&E costs and identify cost efficiency opportunities.
Main duties/responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Provide strategic financial insights and recommendation to senior management to support decision making and drive business growth.
Manage and optimize costs through effective stakeholder partnership and effective oversight on financial management and control.
Manage the preparation, consolidation, review, and analysis of several key forecasting activities including but not limited to budget, forecast, sensitivity analysis
Leading the team in enhancement and streamlining of processes and controls
Work collaboratively with wider team in GIC locations to facilitate information flow and realize synergies
Driving the digital tooling agenda for Regional BC&E
Engagement in various cross-divisional and Global projects as well as new products/business initiatives
Qualifications:
10+ years' experience in financial services industry with an understanding of investment banking products.
Qualification from recognized accounting body
Strong financial acumen and understanding of financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting
Strategic mindset with ability to provide actionable insights and drive financial performance
Excellent leadership and people management skills with the ability to mentor and develop a finance team
Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with stakeholder at all levels
Proven track record of leading and working with GIC teams is preferable.
