General Description of the Job Class
Plan, develop and coordinate the preparation of financial analyses and reports including, but not limited to, operational and capital budgets, financial statements, statistical reports, cost analyses and other financial information; perform complex and specialized assignments in assigned area of expertise; perform lead role in coordinating complex projects.
Duties and Responsibilities of this Level
Overall financial support for variance strategic service lines within Duke University Hospital (DUH). This includes month end accounting, month end reporting, annual budgeting, and financial collaboration with DUH operation teams.
Overall financial support for DUH Medical Directors, Professional Service Agreements, and Value Management agreements. This includes annual budgeting, month end journal entries, overseeing the medical director transition process, maintaining agreements, and overseeing the Physician Timesheet Management System.
Review monthly actual versus budget financials and variance analysis with DUH service line Associate Vice Presidents (AVP), Directors, and Nurse Managers.
Prepare patient level financials for AVPs, and Directors.
Participate in various operational and finance meetings that include CMO, CFO, and AVPs.
Prepare MOUs and maintain the Academic Support file.
Plan, develop, and coordinate the preparation of financial analyses and reports including, but not limited to, operational and capital budgets, financial statements, statistical reports, cost analyses and other financial information for leadership.
Assist in the development, implementation and management of financial systems, and/or financial policies and procedures as appropriate.
Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
Required Qualifications at this Level
Work requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration or a related field. CPA is desirable.
Work requires a minimum of six years of experience in financial analysis, cost accounting, or a field directly related to the specialized area of assignment.
