Brooklyn College of the City University of New York (CUNY) invites applications for a full-time Lecturer position in the Department of Finance with a starting date in August 2023. Lecturers are eligible for a certificate of continuous employment (CCE) upon a sixth reappointment following five years of continuous service.
The Department of Finance in the Koppelman School of Business at Brooklyn College offers a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) degree in Finance. This program prepares students for professional positions with many Wall Street firms, such as Morgan Stanley, UBS, Citigroup, JP Morgan Chase, Bloomberg, and Citigroup. The program also prepares students for finance positions in mutual funds, securities firms, commercial and investment banks, brokerage firms, investment advisory services, and other financial institutions. The Finance Department has eight full-time faculty members, six tenured, one tenure-track and one substitute lecturer.
The successful candidate is expected to:
Teach variety of undergraduate/graduate finance courses related to corporate finance and investments
Engage in professional activities to remain professionally qualified in the finance discipline
Join a CUNY-wide cohort of new lecturers and engage in a program of ongoing pedagogical development
Fulfill service obligations including serving as a faculty advisor, internship coordinator, and liaison to industry
Provide service to the Finance Department, Koppelman School of Business, Brooklyn College, and the City University of New York (CUNY).

Vaccine Mandate:

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum
MS/MBA degree in finance or related field from an accredited institution is required.
Ability to teach undergraduate finance courses related to investments and corporate finance is required.
Ability to teach evening, weekends, face-to-face, and online courses is required.
Preferred
Candidates will have PhD or DBA from AACSB accredited institutions with a curricular emphasis in the field of Finance or related field.
A strong interest in providing guidance and mentorship to students.
Teaching experience in investments and/or corporate finance related courses at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
Industry experience and professional credentials such as CFA, CFP and/or FRM.
Demonstrated ability to work with diverse stakeholders including but not limited to students, faculty colleagues, and business community.
COMPENSATION
$72,280 - $87,004; Salary commensurate with experience and credentials.
