The Department of Economics & Finance in the School of Business and Entrepreneurship at North Central College invites applications for a tenure-track position in Finance to begin August 1, 2026.
The duties in this role include:
Provide instruction for both basic and upper-level courses in finance, including derivatives and financial institutions, as well as MBA or basic economics courses, if needed.
Develop curricula for new finance elective courses in the candidate's research field.
Mentor undergraduate students and engage students in research if possible.
Pursue research activities in finance, including writing, dissemination, and presentation of research at national conferences.
Basic Qualifications:
Basic qualifications are required at the time of application.
The successful candidate will have a terminal degree (Ph.D. or DBA) in Finance or Financial Economics. Candidates who are ABD and will complete their degree before the start date will also receive full consideration.
Applicants must demonstrate commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring of students, and ongoing scholarship that can be published in high quality journals.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preferred qualifications are not required qualifications for the position.
Demonstrated excellence in teaching.
Progress toward (or completion of) CFA.
Ability to teach AI, machine learning, and/or fintech.
Experience working with diverse student populations and communities.
Salary Range:
The budgeted salary range for this position is: $90,000 to $115,000.
