Position Details:
The Opportunity: The Finance/Budget Manager is responsible for fiscal management and oversight of the administrative operations for Multicultural Student Services (MSS), Student Accommodations and Disability Resources (SADR) and affiliated Student Centers including African American Student Center (AASC), Asian American and Pacific Islander Student Center (AAPISC), Chicanx/Latinx Student Center (CLSC), LGBTQ+, Multicultural Student Center (MSSSC), Women's Resource Center (WRC), Compass Mentor Program (CMP), and Disabled Student Center (DSC). Provides in-depth financial analysis and reporting for numerous fund types including core, S&A and gifts and grants. Works collaboratively with department directors to plan, create and manage budgets and funding resources that align with WSU and Student Affairs Strategic Plans. Reconciles and maintains all affiliated accounts. Supervises office administrative positions.
This position may be eligible for Remote/Hybrid work.
Additional Information:
This is a full-time (100% FTE), permanent position. This position is overtime eligible.
Monthly Salary:
$4,942.19 - $5,836.41 | Commensurate with experience and qualifications
In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a related field, and four (4) years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified which has included at least one (1) year of supervisory experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
Experience working with complex budget/accounting processes.
Demonstrated experience utilizing and developing financial templates and databases in business software applications.
Experience in various financial activities such as purchasing, travel, personnel, cost analysis and budget planning.
Demonstrated interpersonal communication skills and the ability to deal with sensitive and confidential subjects in a highly professional and non-confrontational manner.
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated ability to understand, value, and promote diversity.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office software products (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint).
Experience interpreting and applying policies and procedures.
Familiarity with higher education or state agency financial policies and procedures; Workday or other forecasting software.
More than one year of experience managing day-to-day administrative and fiscal needs and activities in a fast paced, complex environment.
Ability to independently manage several projects simultaneously and prioritize multiple tasks.
Ability to work with individuals at all levels of an organization.
Demonstrated skills in the operation of office machines and the use of computer software including spreadsheets, word processing, and database functions.
