Adjunct instructors are hired locally or regionally to teach specific courses in which they have particular expertise. They normally teach no more than half of the full-time load. Adjunct instructors receive a letter of appointment for each semester in which they teach; they are paid on a per-course basis. No expectation of continuing employment is implied.
The Accounting, Finance, and Marketing Department in the Pompea College of Business at the University of New Haven invites applications for Finance adjunct instructors beginning in Fall 2025.
You will:
The position supports the instructional needs of the Accounting, Finance, and Marketing Department in teaching, at both the undergraduate and graduate level. This position seeks for Finance Instructors to teach one or more courses in Corporate Finance, Investments, Personal Finance, International Finance, and related courses.
Courses are primarily offered on-ground, with few sections offered asynchronously
Eligible candidates will be asked to present a teaching demonstration (in person or via Zoom) as part of the hiring process.
You need:
Minimum Master?s degree in related field or MBA with concentration in the field.
CFA and other advanced certificates are a plus
Industry experience in the field is a plus
Previous teaching experience
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to prepare courses with best pedagogical practice in mind
Experience with instructional technology
Experience with previous online/remote or hybrid teaching, using web based instructional software, or other learning management systems
Familiarity with, or the ability to quickly adopt, the Canvas LMS.
