Investment Manager, Wind Ventures, Inc., San Francisco, CA:
Expand Wind Ventures’ ecosystem and network such as Accelerators, incubators, and Subject Matter Experts. Develop investment proposals on specific market opportunities or technology areas with Subject Matter Experts. Prioritize deal flow based on quality, strategic value considerations, economic attractiveness and against the Wind Ventures’ investment strategy and mandate. Review and develop opinions on economic dynamics, opportunities and risks for Latin America as a region to determine investment theses. Evaluate and execute other strategic initiatives such as joint ventures, divestitures, and partnership activities. Conceptualize and execute Wind Ventures’ events such as Immersion days. Ensure compliance with Wind Ventures’ investment process guidelines. Represent Wind Ventures at industry events via speaking engagements. Drive effective partnerships between start-ups and/or scaleups. Provide regular updates on the overall health of the portfolio. Mentor more junior members on the team.
Full time employment, Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week. $199,841.88 per year.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Master of Business Administration with coursework on entrepreneurship, along with a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Science (biology, chemistry, physics or engineering), or closely related field, and 3 years of post-baccalaureate work experience in the private venture capital, strategic venture capital, or similar industry.
Of the required experience, must have 3 years of experience in each of the following:
Financial models (Net Present Value (NPV); Internal Rate of Return (IRR); Return on investment (ROI)), cap tables and presentations;
Corporate stakeholder management such as successfully realizing a financial impact goal while navigating complicated corporate structures;
Sourcing new investment opportunities;
Conducting strategic venture capital due diligence on potential investments, including market sizing, competitive analysis, industry trends, metric benchmarking, risk identification, or customer referencing;
Venture capital investment financial analysis including unit economics, customer willingness to pay, or pro forma operating metrics; and
Independently developing investment proposals for exploration.
In addition, 1 year of experience in the following:
Assessing emerging market opportunities; and
Cross border venture capital deals (especially in Latin America).
Telecommuting: Position based at company office in San Francisco, CA. Position requires one day a week at the office and the rest at home office based in the San Francisco Bay Area, CA. Position occasionally requires work on short notice in the office in San Francisco, CA for meetings, etc.
Travel: International travel required up to 5%; Domestic travel required up to 20%.
Purpose of Travel:
1) to engage the startup eco system globally via conferences;
2) to attend Board and other strategy or governance meetings related to portfolio companies; and
3) to visit our parent company in Chile.
