Assistant Vice President of Finance and Administration
Position Purpose Working closely with the Executive Vice President and CFO, the Assistant Vice President is a key member of the Finance team guiding the finance, payroll, and mail/copy center. Responsible for overseeing the annual financial audit planning. The Assistant Vice President works closely with all departments on campus assisting in the management of the annual budget process, as well as monitoring expenses. In addition, closely working with the Student Financial Services department to ensure proper reconciliation and draw down of Title IV funds to ensure compliance to all federal regulations.
Essential Duties Summary
Finalize monthly financial reports, including but not limited to Statement of Activities, Statement of Financial Position, Statement of Cash flow, and natural classification analysis;
Oversee all Title IV reconciliations and drawdowns, federal reporting (IPEDS, FISAP. EZ-audit, etc.), and grant reporting;
Organize and oversee the internal control and financial fiscal year-end audit, working closely with the Controller;
Responsible for the mail/copy center, including copy leases, timely distribution and receipt of mail;
Responsible for the payroll processing of the organization, including but not limited to: timely and accuracy of payroll, state filings of state income taxes, and unemployment;
Responsible for the preparation of annual operating and capital budgets, in addition to weekly monitoring of budget vs. actual;
Responsible for weekly reporting to include SGPS revenue projections, payroll projections, and budget to actual analysis;
Ensure the cash flow projections are complete and accurate on a weekly basis, while developing cash projections for a rolling 12 months;
Perform internal audit procedures in Student Financial Services, Finance, Development, and other departments as needed;
Work with the Executive Vice President and CFO to develop policies and procedures for the Finance and Administration departments and ensure compliance.
Required Qualifications Education
Master's degree in accounting or related field required;
CPA or CMA required.
Experience
5-7 years' supervisory experience required;
5-7 years of accounting and financial statement experience;
Higher education or Non-Profit experience required;
Skills & Knowledge
Strong time management skills;
Ability to adapt to constant changes in priorities and tasks;
Strong attention to detail;
Strong verbal, written and communication skills,
Experience with Microsoft Office, with advanced skills in excel;
