Job Description:
The Iowa State University Alumni Association (ISUAA) is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Budget and Finance Specialist II to support the associations financial operations. This role is essential in managing, planning, analyzing, and compiling budget activities for the organization. The ideal candidate will manage the annual independent financial audit, oversee the general ledger, provide financial insights and advisory support to alumni association staff, manage operational budgets, and contribute to financial planning initiatives that drive the associations mission and goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Audit Report and Tax Return: Coordinate annual audit and tax return preparation with the ISUAA Audit Committee and the independent audit firm.
Account and Banking Management: Provide oversight of all expenditures and receipts, including managing cash balances, cash flow, and account reconciliation.
Cost Center Management: Maintain the general ledger, including creating and submitting changes and corrections to departmental accounts, preparing, and reviewing all accounting entries for the ISUAA, and working with the University and ISU Foundation regarding accounts managed on the associations behalf.
Budget Preparation & Review: Assist in the preparation, analysis, and review of operational budgets to ensure expenditures align with budgetary provisions and university standards.
Financial Analysis & Support: Conduct analyses for routine budget projects and provide insights to inform financial forecasting and budgetary planning.
Data Compilation & Reporting: Compile financial data and prepare statistical reports to analyze the Alumni Centers expenses, revenue forecasts, and budget variances.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Provide analytical support directly to department managers and prepare comparative reports on current financial standings versus budget forecasts.
