Reporting to the Interim Assistant Vice President for Finance, the Finance Budget Manager's responsibilities include monitoring and analyzing expenditures for the College.
Under the director of the AVP for Finance, the Finance Manager directs and coordinates daily activities to record and reconcile revenues and expenditures quickly and accurately,.
Prepares and manages production of statistical/analytical reports pertinent to financial and operational activities.
Assist the AVP for Finance and VP for Finance and Administration in the planning, development, and management of the annual budget, budget processes and financial activities.
Work as part of a budget team to analyze spending, income, and usage trends; perform variance analyses of budgeted versus actual expenditures.
Prepares monthly reconciliations to ensure the financial integrity of various program budgets and financial data.
Monitor budget balances and expenditures, review transactions, and prepare monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, annual, and special and ad hoc reports and analyses, as needed.
Verify data in external/internal financial accounting and budget systems, and process budget transfers, adjustments and modifications.
Perform special projects and other duties, as assigned by the AVP for Finance and VP Finance and Administration.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree and six years' related experience required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
??? Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration or related field and six years of related experience required. Master's Degree preferred.
??? Experience in higher education highly desirable.
??? Demonstrated prior experience and proficiency in standard and ad-hoc financial analysis, modeling, and reporting is required.
??? Proficiency in all Microsoft Office products required, especially proficiency in Excel is a must.
??? Demonstrated proactive approach and self-initiative is a strong plus.
??? Managing projects and priorities in a dynamic, fluid environment.
??? Creativity and independent problem solving skills.
??? Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
??? Possess excellent analytical skills in a fast and diverse environment.
??? Ability to interact effectively with a wide variety of users with different expectations and backgrounds.
??? Strong organizational skills with emphasis on detail and follow-up.
??? Excellent oral and written communication skills, presentation skills, and organizational and interpersonal skills are required.
