Job Summary:
Under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Design, the Assistant Dean of Finance and Administration (ADFA) works closely with the Dean, academic leadership, the Provost Budget Office and the EVPFA to direct the fiscal leadership of the College of Design in budgeting, planning, strategy, analysis, reporting and oversight of financial activities. Oversight areas include the annual college budget, internal business processes and controls, the college endowment portfolio, and the effective and efficient operation of the Design Centralized Business Office.
The ADFA serves as a key member of the college's leadership team, providing guidance to the Dean and college leadership. The ADFA, plays an active role in strategic planning and serves as the College's Chief of Staff to assist the Dean in administrative implementation of strategic ideas and goals, and to establish communicate and enforce administrative policy. The preferred candidate must be able to perform under challenging circumstances, adhere to tight deadlines, be a self-starter, a critical thinker, have strong attention to detail, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and possess the ability to learn new tasks quickly.
Skills /Knowledge/Abilities:
Accounting proficiency including knowledge of GAAP, FASB/GASB, solid knowledge/awareness of relevant UK policies and procedures, excellent communication and strong leadership skills, SAP & Microsoft Suite skills.

Prefer a degree in accounting, finance or business, and related experience in an academic institution.
