Reporting to the Queens College Finance Manager, the Finance Coordinator, will, in addition to the CUNY Title Overview, perform various tasks in the office of Accounting and Accounts Payable, including but not limited to the following:
??? Assist with maintaining general and special books for multiple Non-Tax Levy Entities
??? Prepare cash receipts, accounts receivable invoices and journal entries that relate to various Non-Tax Levy Business Units.
??? Review daily financial transactions, such as receivable billing entries, deposits, treasuring accounting entries, etc. ahead of implemented deadlines
??? Review system-generated trial balance reports for posting and accuracy in a timely manner
??? Review and audit documentation for accuracy and compliance
??? Perform month-end, quarterly, mid-year and year-end closings by deadlines.
??? Assist with reconciling the General Ledgers for various entities and prepare monthly audit schedules
??? Prepare trial balances, assist with the preparation of Financial Statements and MDA and provide the supporting schedules required for annual audit in a timely manner
??? Prepare and upload files into financial system for various Non-Tax Levy Business Units
??? Maintain records/spreadsheets pertaining to various business units
??? Regularly review saved documentation required for audits
??? Create service tickets, maintain the ticket statuses and act as a liaison between departments
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor???s degree required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
-Degree in Accounting or Finance
-Accounting experience
-Knowledge of PeopleSoft/Oracle system, specifically the finance module.
-Knowledge of Blackbaud???s Financial Edge or other accounting software
-Higher education experience
-Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
-Experience utilizing Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables and VLOOKUP), Word, Access, and SharePoint.
-Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
-Must have strong organizational skills with the ability to set priorities, manage multiple demands and meet deadlines.
-Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a demanding and complex work environment

Performs financial analysis and administrative work related to College or unit accounting.
Prepares, reconciles and distributes expenditure and related accounting reports
Creates and maintains various spreadsheets related to financial analysis
Processes and tracks transactional entries
Provides support in the administration of various business operations
Coordinates with various departments on accounting matters
Monitors systems and operations to assure a smooth workflow
Performs related duties as assigned.
