The Opportunity:
The Office of the Provost is seeking an experienced Executive Director to join the team. This senior position is pivotal in directing and overseeing fiscal management, human resources, and related administrative functions for various areas, programs, and units reporting to the Office of the Provost. As the Executive Director, you will provide leadership and direction, ensuring the effective planning, development, management, and administration of business functions. You will be responsible for directing and controlling programs to ensure accountability in resource allocation and program outcomes. Additionally, you will represent the Office of the Provost and Executive Vice President to both internal and external stakeholders, particularly in matters related to the financial management of academic programs.
Required Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and eight (8) years of progressively responsible relevant experience, which has included at least three (3) years of managerial experience. A Master's degree in a related field may be substituted for up to one (1) year of the required experience. Education and experience can be tailored to fit the specific organizational entity/directorial assignment.
Experience utilizing computer applications for budget and fiscal management
Knowledge and skillful use of software, including MS Office products (Word, Excel, and related products) and data and financial management systems.
Demonstrated ability to conduct complex financial analyses involving student and financial data.
Interpersonal skills and professionalism commensurate with representing the Office of the Provost and Executive Vice President in a variety of settings within the university.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
Demonstrated ability to organize, coordinate, supervise, and review the work of others.
Ability to work effectively with persons of varying levels of responsibility and experience.
Ability to prepare and supervise the preparation of reports and analyses that summarize complex financial concepts in ways that are transparent and understandable to various audiences.
Preferred Qualifications:
Significant experience in analyzing, interpreting, and applying regulations, policies, and procedures in areas related to fiscal management and operations in a comparable, complex organization.
Progressively responsible experience in fiscal/business management in an institution of higher learning or similar institution.
Experience in budget, finance, and data management and analysis within a university-level vice presidential or an academic college.
Experience in the administrative operations of a land-grant university. Experience in major and minor capital planning.
Area Finance Officer experience within Washington State University.
Monthly Salary: $15,000 - $16,250 | In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.
