ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Managing MetroPlan’s budget and financial operations by overseeing financial planning, monitoring expenditures, and ensuring financial stability; this may include developing budget projections, tracking expenses, and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
Processing accounts payable and overseeing revenue collection entails managing invoices, payments, and financial transactions; this may include coordinating with vendors, reconciling accounts, and ensuring timely payments to maintain financial health.
Ensuring compliance with grant regulations and reporting requirements involves understanding grant terms, preparing necessary documentation, and submitting accurate and timely reports to funding agencies; this may also include monitoring funds and expenditures to meet grant guidelines.
Coordinating and facilitating meetings with the Board and its committees requires organizing agendas, preparing meeting materials, and documenting discussions and decisions; this may involves serving as a liaison between different Board, committees, and team members and ensuring effective communication among all stakeholders.
Supervising and guiding vendors in financial tasks includes overseeing vendor contracts, and monitoring compliance and performance with financial agreements; this may involve providing guidance on financial procedures and resolving any financial issues that arise.
Preparing and submitting budget documents to various agencies involves creating detailed budget proposals, forecasting financial needs, and presenting budget reports to stakeholders; this also includes aligning budget plans with MetroPlan’s organizational goals and objectives.
Reviewing and analyzing financial reports for accuracy requires examining financial data, identifying trends, and providing insights into financial performance; this involves ensuring that financial reports comply with accounting standards and accurately reflects MetroPlan’s financial status.
Leading procurement processes and agreements entails managing the procurement process, evaluating bids, and negotiating contracts with vendors; this is accomplished by ensuring compliance with procurement regulations, tracking procurement activities, and maintaining accurate and up-to-date procurement records.
Organizing and conducting Board and committee meetings and activities involves scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, and coordinating meeting logistics; this also includes facilitating discussions, documenting meeting outcomes, and following up on action items to support effective Board and committee operations.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Management, Public Administration, or other closely related field of study.
Three years of experience in governmental budgeting, accounting, or recordkeeping, as well as utilization of computerized accounting systems like QuickBooks.
One year of experience in proficiently operating computer systems and software such as Microsoft Word and Excel, Adobe Acrobat, and the internet.
Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of this position.
LICENSES, TRAINING, AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS
Valid Arizona Driver License with satisfactory driving record for the last five years is preferred but not required.
