About the Position:
California State University Channel Islands (CSUCI) is seeking two tenure track professor(s) in Finance. The rank is open to Assistant or Associate. Responsibilities of the faculty member within the Martin V. Smith School of Business & Economics include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in Finance, with preference given to candidates interested in teaching a range of courses including Corporate Finance, International Financial Management, Investment Analysis, Financial Markets and Institutions, and developing new finance courses.

Minimum Degree Requirements:
Doctoral degree (PhD or DBA) or ABD from an accredited institution in Finance or closely related field. Candidates are expected to complete the degree at the time of appointment.
Required Qualifications:
Demonstrated evidence of, or clear potential for, teaching excellence at the university level;
Demonstrated evidence of, or clear potential for, conducting and publishing original research in peer-reviewed journals;
Demonstrated commitment to work in a multiethnic, multilingual and multicultural environment;
Demonstrated willingness to work with students who require support with academic or college readiness.
Demonstrated commitment to effectively work with and engage a diverse student population with a special focus on Latinx, Black/African American, American Indian, and Asian/Asian American/Pacific Islander students.
Preferred Qualifications:
Relevant prior business or professional experience in the finance industry;
Relevant professional certifications in the finance industry;
Experience and/or interest in curriculum and program development;
Experience using innovative instructional strategies and technologies;
Experience and interest in teaching online or hybrid classes;
Responsibilities: CI faculty members are teacher/scholars who are expected to engage in an ongoing program of scholarship demonstrating intellectual and professional growth. Additionally, all faculty members are expected to assume an active collegial role in planning and governance through service on Martin V. Smith School of Business and Economics and campus-wide committees. Faculty members are expected to promote cross-cultural awareness and service to the community.
