JOB DESCRIPTION
Are you a numbers ninja with a passion for precision? Can you effortlessly balance accounts and spot discrepancies from a mile away? Do you enjoy the challenge of making sure every cent is accounted for and every transaction is smooth as butter?
The Tennessee Electric Cooperative Association is searching for a Finance Specialist to join our team. You’ll play a key role in our financial operations, focusing on accounts payable and receivable. Your day will involve processing invoices, managing payments and ensuring our financial transactions are recorded accurately.
But it’s not all about numbers! You’ll collaborate with a fun and creative team where your insights and input will be valued. Your ability to analyze financial data and communicate your findings clearly will be crucial in supporting our financial health.
We’re looking for someone with a bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field or an associate’s degree combined with two or more years of experience. The ideal candidate will be proficient in the Microsoft Office suite of software, and experience with SAGE accounting software is highly preferred.

LOCATION
Our office is located in Nashville, a destination known for music-filled streets, hot chicken and an abundance of outdoor activities.

Proficiency with Microsoft Teams, Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint),
Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers and external stakeholders such as member cooperative financial professionals, external contractors and consultants, auditors, bankers, customers, and others
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong listening skills
Must be self-motivated with a strong desire to learn, develop, and work independently
Ability to operate office equipment, including printers, copiers and phones
Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented office environment
Strong mathematical abilities (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, percentages and ratios), including the ability to process data and to use a calculator
WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Ability to sit for periods of time and to move intermittently throughout the workday within between departments or facilities
Ability to interact frequently with others through phone, email, virtual meetings and written correspondence
Occasional need to lift or maneuver files and boxes of stored documents
The Tennessee Electric Cooperative Association is a trade association established to serve the needs of Tennessee’s electric cooperatives. The association represents 25 individual power distributors including Tennessee’s 22 electric cooperatives, one municipal system and two electric cooperatives in northwest Georgia.
