Job Summary The Director Business & Finance, Pharmacy shall be responsible for:
Developing and executing enterprise-wide financial strategy for provision of pharmaceutical care in collaboration with Chief Pharmacy Officer and peer directors.
Partnering closely with Finance, Patient Care Services finance team, Supply Chain, Office of General Counsel, and Compliance to ensure achievement of pharmacy financial targets and business goals
Developing the fiscal year operating and capital budgets for pharmacy cost centers in collaboration with Pharmacy leadership.
Preparing and monitoring all inpatient, ambulatory, specialty, and research pharmacy monthly financial reports in consultation with department leadership. Forecasting drug expense for purposes of revenue and expense budget planning.
Directing business operations and financial management for the pharmacy enterprise including: Pharmacy Supply Chain, Pharmacy Finance, Specialty Pharmacy, and the 340B Program
Collaborating with Revenue Integrity to ensures the integrity, efficiency and effectiveness of the revenue cycle
Directing activities of pharmacy personnel involved in purchasing, receiving, and billing, as well as the 340B program analysts and pharmacy business analysts
Providing support for business plans and financial modeling projects
Establishing vendor relations and negotiates contracts with support from Purchasing and Contracts, Office of General Counsel, Finance, and outside agencies to ensure that contracts are appropriate.
Working as an integral member of the Pharmacy Leadership Team.
To qualify you must have:
A Master's degree in Business Administration, Health Care Administration, or a closely related field required and a minimum of 5 years prior pharmacy business related experience
Analytical skills necessary to resolve problems requiring a professional level of knowledge in specific discipline/field and/or improve, enhance or upgrade complex clinical, financial, data processing and data analysis.
Knowledge of budget management.
Knowledge of contracts/agreements.
Advanced knowledge and demonstrated skills in contemporary analysis software.
Ability to effectively manage the employees within assigned unit/department and to persuade and negotiate with peer level managers on issues and programs that impact assigned unit/department. Effectively dealing with conflicting views or issues and mediating fair and workable solutions.
