Academic Affairs at Radford University has the exciting opportunity to build a senior leadership team that will help us fulfill our mission of teaching students who become the leaders of thriving communities! Located in the beautiful mountains and valleys of Southwest Virginia, Radford University seeks an experienced Academic Affairs Director to join the Provost's team. We seek candidates who have knowledge of academic budgeting and personnel processes and have the ability to work collaboratively and innovatively to move from a traditional centralized budgeting model to a hybrid system that provides more autonomy and responsibility in the academic units.
The Director of Academic Affairs Finance and Operations is responsible for managing the budget, fiscal planning and analysis, and personnel actions in Academic Affairs. The Director will provide executive level support to the Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs in responsibly managing the Academic Affairs financial and personnel resources. The Director will manage a sustainable financial model for academic units that funds essential academic activities and personnel; and incentivizes growth in departments and interdisciplinary programs in alignment with Radford University's mission.
The Director of Academic Affairs Finance and Operations reports to the Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and will supervise several employees in the Academic Budgets and Administration Office. Overseeing the largest financial unit at Radford University, the Director will work closely with the University Budget Director, other members of the Provost's Senior staff and the academic deans to prepare and manage academic budgets. The Director will provide timely and reliable data analyses and forecasting to the Provost and Academic Affairs Leadership. The Director will take initiative to create updated fiscal processes that support alignment of budgetary resources with Radford University's academic mission. Additionally, the Director will partner with Human Resources to provide support to the Provost and Deans regarding personnel actions and staffing, including overseeing position vacancies, hiring requests, searches, and employment contracts. The Director will provide financial training and guidance to the academic colleges and senior staff. The Director should have a passion for student success, a respect for teacher-scholar faculty and enthusiasm for a broad-based, experiential, and applied college education.

Required Qualifications:
Experience in fiscal management and analysis for an academic unit in higher education or equivalent experience in a government or non-profit environment
Experience developing analytics to help guide data-informed decision-making
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated experience with multi-year state budgetary cycle experience using Banner, COGNOS, eVa and PeopleAdmin.
Experience teaching in higher education
