ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
The role sits in the new Structured Finance business which includes??Wholesale and Block Discounting teams with a mandate to lend to lending businesses within the UK.??
The client is looking to hire a??London based Portfolio Manager to join the Structured Finance: Wholesale team.
In the coming years, you will be responsible for establishing and leading the Portfolio Management function of the team. This will involve the on-going management of 10+ clients and ??100m+ of exposure.
Specifically, your responsibilities will include:
Leading the day to day portfolio management function, such as;
Responsibility for a portfolio of borrowing clients, reviewing each client???s financial performance, ensuring timely receipt of management information, monitoring covenant compliance and maintaining relevant control systems.
Managing the drawdown and other key mechanics of each facility
Arranging, attending and leading regular meetings with clients and proactively identifying credit risks.
Report upon key portfolio summaries, trends and interact with the credit / risk functions.
Execution of refinances, renewals, or amendment requests as well as certain follow-on commitment requests. Collaborating with Credit Risk and senior stakeholders within the Bank??while building a trusted partner relationships with clients, syndicate partners and key influencers in speciality lender communities.
Support the team on due diligence evaluation, financial modelling, deal structuring and presentation of credit risks and strengths in credit applications.
Working with relevant internal teams to ensure that the portfolio adheres to the Bank's??legal and regulatory responsibilities.
Managing the internal process
Supports the supervising, training, and personal development of new joiners
Participates in cross team collaboration projects around business and product development and strategic priorities.
EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
5+ years of experience in managing structured finance transactions and have a strong understanding of;
Debt products
In-life transaction management
Covenant monitoring and early warning indicators (EWI) monitoring
Credit assessment and reporting
Bilateral/syndicated documentation
You will have proven analytical and business skills.
You will be comfortable presenting your analytical work both verbally and in writing
You maintain a strong awareness of the market and key risk issues, whilst striving for optimal commercial outcomes with clients
Strong academic background, ideally in a numerate discipline.
Ready for manager level responsibility and able to share knowledge and contribute ideas
