Job Description

PROJECT PORTFOLIO DIRECTOR-FINANCE AND RESEARCH, Business and Digital Transformation Office, to report to the chief officer for business and digital transformation and lead--in close partnership with finance, research and IT--the design, management, coordination, implementation, and control of large-scale transformation projects for finance and research functions. MIT is embarking on a transformation journey to improve its administrative processes, systems, and services and the director will play a key leadership role in achieving these objectives for the finance and research function; and support the transformation of the Institute by ensuring alignment across people, process, technology, and data/analytics dimensions.

Job Requirements
REQUIRED: bachelor's degree in a related field; fifteen years' relevant project portfolio management experience; proven leadership experience, including direct and influence leadership of diverse teams across a highly matrixed organization; in-depth knowledge of the core processes and services provided by the finance and research functions; experience leading the implementation of enterprise-wide finance and research ERP system implementations, ideally in a large/complex higher education institution; relevant industry-recognized project management certification (e.g., PMP); ability to interact and engage with executive-level stakeholders; strong vendor relationship management experience; experience managing large-scale teams of consultants; demonstrated track record of successfully implementing projects of various sizes; strong analytical skills and ability to solve complex problems and interpret data and synthesize complex issues to identify optimal solutions; proven ability to organize, prioritize, and work effectively with others; ability to communicate thoughts, ideas, and solutions, both verbally and in writing; ability to build trusted relationships and collaborate across diverse teams; and ability to get up to speed quickly on complex issues in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment.
