Serves as a project manager for key initiatives. May oversee the preparation and management of grants and contracts involving a variety of funding sources and agencies.

Senior Finance and Administration Manager
We are looking for a motivated, self-starter to manage the administration and finances at the National Robotics Engineering Center. This position has a wide range of responsibilities providing administrative and financial management and support to the entire organization. Responsibilities included managing all administrative tasks at NREC, be the point of contact for all administrative and financial issues or requests including auditor requests (e.g. DCAA), review and process/approve various requests in Workday (expense reports, employees status or salary change, new job postings, travel request, etc.), generate and maintain financial forecast for the entire organization, track budgets and expenses for the different support groups (IT, operations, recruiting, etc), set new projects in the Oracle database, manage payroll moves, provide financial reports from Oracle, and other responsibilities as needed. This position has budgetary responsibility of $28M-$30M.
This is a senior management position that requires self-motivation, initiative, work ethics, ability to work with multiple deadlines and priorities, discretion and care when handling confidential information (e.g. salaries), and tact to interact with peers across the University.

Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Provide guidance on all administrative related issues to NREC personnel as needed.
- Serve as part of the management team providing advice and consultation on matters of compliance, policy, administration and planning.
- Provide annual complex financial forecasting and negotiation required to set the facility and program office recharge center rates that are applied annually to NREC federal and non-federal research projects.
- Provide responses and information to University internal auditors, KPMG auditors, PWC auditors and DCAA auditors as requested.
- Responsible to input data for financial review to RI/SCS on behalf of NREC.
- Responsible for pulling data out of Oracle containing confidential salary info when needed (e.g. for proposals).
- Process invoice requisitions for activities that are not sponsored research (e.g. training fee)
- Serves as Department Liaison with Human Resources for different requests (e.g. set-up supervisor roles, communication allowance, new job postings, etc.)
- Review and approves all PTO for Director's reports and the administrative staff.
- Provide general HR information as requested by staff and refers necessary questions to HR Partner and HR Generalist.
- Work closely with NREC recruiters to provide guidance and relative information when requested regarding job posts, hiring issues, etc.
- Keep photo log of all new NREC employees and provide photos to RI for NREC new hires.
- Review monthly recharge accounting statements and reviews problems for correction.
- Provide E-verify forms to staff requiring e-verification and keeps master log of all E-verified NREC requests.
- Sets up non-sponsored research agreements (e.g. training/education) with internal accounting.
- Set up all new projects in Oracle after award paperwork is received from OSP. Distributes project info to SPA and NREC staff.
- Provide guidance on close outs of projects.
- Review property audits
- Approves all travel expense reports.
- Approves all Purchase Card (Pcard) transactions.
- Conducts performance reviews with direct reports on an annual basis.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in finance or business administration or equivalent
- 10+ years of experience in department administration in a university
- 10+ years of experience in a research environment
- Attention to details
- Proven record of accurate financial calculation
- Experience with Excel
- Excellent teamwork skills
- Ability to work with multiple deadlines
Additional desired experience or qualifications:
- Experience with Oracle financial database system for non-profit organizations
- Experience with WorkDay
- Experience with supervision of staff (i.e. direct report)
