Leads financial analysis related to budget development and implementation, forecasting, and cost reduction and supports annual budget activities.
Leads the reconciliation of monthly financial data, and the preparation of monthly variance reports to assist in reviewing the overall operational budget performance. Reconciles standard budget and payroll information, ensuring that appropriate institutional accounts are accurate.
Clearly communicate and present budget analysis data to senior leadership and across the School, as well as, to University budget partners.
In collaboration with the Sr. Associate Dean for Administration, the Director of Human Resources, and the Director of Sponsored Activities, develop the annual budget for the School.
Holds responsibility and manages all financial analysis to advise the School's administration and faculty to inform smart fiscal decision-making and accurate budget projections.
Leads fiscal year-end reporting and analysis.
Develop and implement financial policies and procedures that align with the School's strategic goals.
Ensure compliance with all applicable financial regulations.
Represent the School at University financial meetings and events. Keep abreast of changes to University financial systems, policies, regulations, and guidelines.
Train staff/faculty regarding matters of University compliance and financial systems and tools.
Conduct regular audits of payables activities and provide financial analysis for internal audit requests.
Collaborates with the Dean of Students Office to project, monitor, and reconcile tuition revenue and student aid expenses.
Reviews and approves purchasing and reimbursement requests charged to operational, gift, and endowment accounts.
Serve as backup for post-award support to the Director of Sponsored Activities, when needed.
Serves as an experienced liaison interacting with financial administrators within operational units on financial, budget or accounting matters to prepare, advise and recommend.
Conducts quantitative and qualitative analyses to monitor and manage for expense optimization by identifying market drivers, enhance strategies, or improve revenue generation.
Provides financial input based on the development of data collection, metrics, reports and other analytical applications.
Analyze, organize, and communicate business information to ensure deliverables are meeting or exceeding expectations.
Performs other related work as needed.
Preferred Qualifications Â
Education:
Bachelorâ™s degree in accounting or finance.
Masterâ™s degree in accounting.
Experience:
Minimum 7 years of experience in finance preferably in a higher education environment.
Accounting and budgeting experience.
Project management experience.
Supervisory experience.
Strong budget management skills.
Experience in post-award administration.
