The Assistant Director manages a variety of tasks and processes for the Finance & Personnel Team, which has oversight for all fund management, financial processes, and personnel actions in Belk College. The Assistant Director provides College-level management of external grant, research, and contract funding, including direct support for the College's principal investigators in post-award fund management. In collaboration with the Assistant Dean and Associate Director, this position will also have oversight of Belk College's financial transaction processes. As part of this oversight role, the Assistant Director will serve as the functional manager for one of the team's Business Service Coordinator positions. In addition, the Assistant Director will support the Assistant Dean in managing the College's faculty recruitment and hiring process.
Provides College-level management of external grant, research, and contract funding for the Belk College of Business.
Collaborates with the Office of Research Services to provide direct support for the College's principal investigators in post-award management
Serves as the functional manager for one of the Finance and Personnel Team's Business Services Coordinators, including primary oversight for training and time management, as well as collaboration with the Assistant Dean on performance evaluations.
Provides oversight for financial processes and fund assignment as part of management role.
Provides support to the Assistant Dean for management of the College's faculty recruitment and hiring process.
Minimum Experience / Education:
Masters or Bachelors with 0-2 yrs of relevant experience; or equivalent education/experience.
Preferred Education Skills and Experience:
Bachelors or Masters degree in business administration or a related field
Prior experience working in higher education (minimum 4 years)
Prior experience working with post-award management for external grants and contracts
Experience working with Banner and/or NinerResearch
Knowledge of UNC Charlotte policies and procedures
