“Vice President, Director of Digital Assets Investments” sought by Global X Management Company, LLC d/b/a Global X ETFS (“Global X” or “Global X Management Company”), headquartered at 605 Third Avenue, 43rd Floor, New York, NY 10158. This would also be the location out of which the role will be based long-term. Position is a permanent, immediately available, job opportunity that does not require travel. Must live in New York City or surrounding area (so as to be within a reasonable, commuting distance of corporate headquarters and the worksite address, given above, in New York, NY). Note that while regularized telecommuting (i.e., exclusively or predominately working remotely from home), this historically was not permitted pre-pandemic, we, like so many United States businesses, had to relax this starting in 2020 due to COVID-19. A limited telecommuting benefit now consequently is freely available to all staff; a hybrid approach and model has been adopted. Under this, we ask and expect that at least fifty percent of all work time be performed from Global X New York City corporate headquarters (doubling as worksite here, with full address, given above). Apart from this, telecommuting from home is allowed, up to fifty percent of the time therefore as well. Corporate support of such an arrangement (of home and office split), this will continue indefinitely going forward. Traditional, job description now follows.
Professional position in quantitative finance, financial analysis and in trading, asset, investment and portfolio management, centralized at the firm’s New York City headquarters location. Contributes to defining overall approach to rapidly-growing, digital assets space and to the design, research and implementation of digital asset investments. Scope of work spans digital-asset indexes, exchange-traded funds (“ETFs”) and private funds, including responsibility for developing market insights, research reports and investment commentary. Role works with several teams at Global X Management Company, including senior leadership, sales, marketing, research, product development and portfolio management. Responsibilities further include: identify and evaluate business opportunities in finance and regarding digital assets, expanding and enhancing the firm’s offerings in the digital space; evaluate opportunities across other investment structures, including ETPs, private funds and SMAs; work with product development team to identify opportunities to bring digital assets strategies to market, to design innovative index methodologies, and to optimize and enhance existing financial and quantitative approaches; develop trading and execution strategies in collaboration with portfolio management and portfolio administration teams; manage portfolio risk, maintaining appropriate market and security-level hedges, and ensuring portfolio characteristics are synchronized with key tenets of investment strategy and algorithms; analyze regulatory environments to identify value drivers and understand risk factors to investment portfolio due to policy changes; conduct detailed financial and economic due-diligence and fundamental research, in order to quantify risk and reward parameters for underlying securities in the digital-asset investment portfolio of Global X Management Company; work with institutional investors and financial intermediaries, including financial advisors, registered investment advisors and brokers, all regarding financial and investing strategies available, and Global X’s line of digital-asset investments; develop product positioning and asset-allocation data, supporting the firm’s digital-asset investing; analyze research reports, industry trends, and economic data, contributing to the performance of Global X digital-assets investments; develop investment ideas in other areas that include crypto currencies, blockchain technology and related areas; and continually-analyze changing regulatory landscapes around digital assets and work with internal stakeholders to ensure that firm practices are best-in-class. Role will supervise two other subordinate, full-time Financial Quantitative Analysts of Global X Management Company.
Full-time position; base annual salary of $250,000.00 per year. Requires a Bachelor’s Degree or foreign equivalent in finance, financial engineering, mathematical or quantitative finance, or related field (to include applied mathematics). Also requires five years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the following: (a) regarding trading, asset, investment and portfolio management in financial services, to include work in regulatory analysis, financial and economic due-diligence, asset-allocation data development and analysis, and quantitative analysis; and (b) managing the development and growth of ETFs/ETPs and SMAs. Note that the five years, otherwise required and specified here, it must also include one year devoted to the following: (i) researching and constructing digital-asset strategies in financial services, with this work specifically spanning private funds, digital-asset indexes, risk management, financial and economic due-diligence, and quantitative analysis applied to digital assets; (ii) asset-allocation data development and analysis, directly in support of digital-asset investing strategies; (iii) managing the development and growth of private funds; (iv) performing on-chain data analysis, yield farming, staking and digital-asset lending, and developing investing strategies involving crypto-token economics and blockchain technology; and (v) performing regulatory analysis in financial services, here specifically regarding digital assets, and also with focus in risk management and mitigation techniques and strategies.
