Duties: Lead day-to-day project management and oversee execution of pitches and transactions. Act as financial and strategic advisor for clients of core accounts in conjunction with senior bankers. Drive long-term client relationship development through effective dialogue with client leadership teams. Develop and oversee financial analyses to support advisory transactions and highlight key takeaways. Carefully review and provide guidance to junior banking teammates. Underwrite transaction evaluation preparation due diligence and execution of transactions. Manage preparation of marketing materials including teasers, information memoranda, and other transaction-related documentation. Share relevant deal/client context with the junior team and provide motivation and guidance for the team. Maintain working knowledge of multiple client sectors monitor key industry drivers and assemble insights to support and enhance advisory services and new business development initiatives. Identify potential deal challenges and elevate concerns to senior bankers. Lead client meetings and drafting sessions. Drive idea generation and creation of strategic frameworks tools and intellectual property to aid business development activities of the firm. Identify improvements to processes and propose solutions to complete group tasks more efficiently. Demonstrate understanding of macro factors related to client sectors and investment banking and potential implications. Act as lead trainer for associates and analysts articulating roles and objectives for junior team members and providing constructive feedback. Ensure all activity is compliant with applicable company rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. Actively participate in recruiting and training activities. 10-20% domestic travel required to attend client meetings.
Requirements: Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics or a directly related field plus six (6) years of investment banking or mergers and acquisitions (M&A) experience.
Experience may be gained concurrently and must include four (4) years in each of the following: - Working with high velocity and high volume financial processes in a financial services firm, including managing and balancing priorities from multiple stakeholders - Sell side M&A advisory with explicit experience with transaction requirements, timelines and processes - Working directly with clients to draft key marketing documents and fulfill diligence requests - Pitch material preparation and idea generation - Analysis of company financial statements and back-up data - Technical financial valuation including DCF, LBO, SOTP and relative methods (comparable trading and transactions) - Combination or synergy analyses including accretion/dilution and merger implications - Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint, and Outlook - FactSet or CapIQ - Mentoring and training junior teammates
Alternately, will accept a Master’s of Business Administration degree and four (4) years of described experience.
