Colorado Residents: Northmarq carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the Loan Portfolio Manager position is $107,000.00 annually or [$51.44 per hour] and the maximum salary is $145,000.00 annually [or $69.71 per hour]. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience.

Northmarq is looking for an individual to join its Servicing department as a Loan Portfolio Manager at our Denver, CO office. This position requires a deadline driven, service focused and detail minded individual who would be responsible for leading a team of 4-7 employees within our Portfolio & Asset Management team. Additional responsibilities may be added to adapt to company growth (In line with department with goals and objectives).
Position Responsibilities:
With minimal oversight from the Senior Manager, manage team of 4-7 Loan Portfolio Analysts responsible for, but not limited to, borrower requests (lease approvals, maturity extensions, partial releases/substitutions of collateral, easements, condemnations, ownership transfers, loan assumptions, etc.), financial analysis, reserve disbursements, payment collection, and covenant monitoring.
Provide premier customer service to lenders, borrowers, and regional offices in a friendly and professional manner.
Plan and schedule own workload to efficiently meet benchmarks within the department.
Create, distribute, and monitor reports to lenders and management to ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
Responsible for oversight of assigned lender portfolios (Life Companies, or other investors), including maintaining effective business relationships, monitoring team tasks, quality control, lender feedback, and providing internal approval of write-ups/recommendations.
Review and approve Loan Portfolio Analysts and Portfolio Manager’s recommendations for releases of lender held reserves.
Coach, direct and motivate staff through daily interaction and workload discussions.
Develop, train, and assess the competency of staff; serve as a mentor as well as a resource of technical knowledge.
Provide ongoing feedback to analysts regarding their development and goals as well as an annual performance review.
Organize and coordinate monthly team meetings.
Collaborate with department leadership and Human Resources to recruit and hire staff.
Build lender relationships through industry conference attendance, lender visits, and networking (limited travel <5%).
Serve on leadership teams and assist with the formulation/execution of department policies, procedures, and strategies.
Develop and implement procedures and business processes; serve as an advisor to various procedure committees.
Ensure coordination of year end requirements including, but not limited to non-cash reporting for designated lenders, financial statement form updates/assignments, W-9 clean-up, review of defaulted loans to ensure accurate reporting, etc.
Collaborate with the Servicing Management Group and Leadership Team on development and execution of strategic objectives.
Perform other reasonable tasks/projects as assigned within department.
What We're Looking For:
Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in real estate, finance, or accounting. Master’s Degree is desirable, but not required.
5-10 years of experience in finance or accounting with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role. Background in commercial lending or servicing preferred.
Required knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
Strong knowledge of commercial real estate finance and commercial loan terminology
