The Accounting and Finance Department at Washington and Lee University plans to hire at least one full-time tenure-track position in Finance at the assistant or associate level (without tenure) to begin July 1st, 2024. The area of research specialty is open. We value industry experience and/or professional finance certification. The successful candidates will teach a required Managerial Finance course and an elective course in finance.
We require a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching excellence in a liberal arts environment and value interdisciplinary approaches to pedagogy. Our school calendar consists of two 13-week terms, one in the fall and one in the winter, and a 4-week spring term. The teaching load is 5 courses per year (4 in the first year). Class sizes are purposefully small. Faculty also have an active research program. To support faculty research agendas, the university offers a summer research grant program, a generous five-year sabbatical cycle as well as a pre-tenure research leave program. The university subscribes to Bloomberg, Factset and several databases accessible through WRDS.

Qualifications
A doctorate in finance or related field from an AACSB accredited school.
Demonstrated experience and effectiveness in teaching finance at the undergraduate level are required.
