The Business Office provides support and assistance in the areas of accounting, accounts receivable, Perkins Loans, TAP certification, Research Foundation post-award accounting, and the College revenue budget. Staff are expected to maintain and enforce strong professional and ethical standards, while adhering to CUNY policies and procedures. Providing high quality customer service to all faculty members, staff, students, and administrators, as well as external customers is a priority.
The Finance Coordinator reports directly to the Business Manager. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Assists with year-end audit, including preparation of analyses, financial statements, notes to financial statements, and Management Discussion and Analysis (MDA).
Creates reports and presentations as directed by the Senior Vice President of Finance and Administration, the Director of the Business Office, and other Unit managers.
Performs semi-manual and monthly bank reconciliations for all non-tax levy bank accounts.
Performs pay cycle process.
Processes accounts payable requisitions and vouchers as well as travel and expense reimbursements/cash advances for related entities.
Performs analyses of historical revenue and expenditures as needed.
Develops budgets for non-tax levy activities.
Updates and maintains financial reporting and financial statements and maintains ledgers of accounts.
Assists with system implementations (CUNYBuy).
Prepares monthly schedules pertaining to accounts payable and other liability general ledger accounts.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Essential duties require on-campus presence.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree required.
The following qualifications are preferred:
At least two years experience working in a higher education setting
Experience with CUNY systems
Availability to work evening and weeked hours as needed
