Jackson Electric Cooperative (JEC) invites applications from qualified electric utility leaders for the position of Finance Manager in Black River Falls, WI and has selected Dairyland Power Cooperative to facilitate the search process.
JEC is a Touchstone Energy® electric distribution cooperative with over 6,000 customers in Western Wisconsin. The mission of Jackson Electric Cooperative is to provide dependable electric and subsidiary services at competitive prices, to maintain lines of communications between the Board of Directors, management, employees, members, and community leaders to actively participate in community affairs.
The Finance Manager serves as a key member of our management team and is responsible for providing financial management, as well as analysis and advice to the General Manager/CEO and Board of Directors. This position will also be responsible for the long and short-range financial plans, billing, capital credit, financial analysis, accounting and accounts payable, fixed assets, payroll, corporate insurance, purchasing and tax functions
The Impact You’ll Make in this Role as Finance Manager includes:
Acting as an integral member of JEC’s management team, reporting directly to the President & CEO
Providing leadership and oversight to the accounting team
Maintaining debt and investment portfolios, providing detailed financial data for budget and forecasts
Responsibility for monthly journal entries, period close, and miscellaneous general ledger work, monthly reporting and purchasing
Developing short- and long-term financial plans and recommending strategies to achieve financial goals
Developing cooperative work relationships with key stakeholders
Empowering team members to attain objectives in support of JEC’s strategic plan and establishing effective criteria to guide and measure performance
To set you up for success in this role, JEC requires, at a minimum, the following qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field, with experience in a progressively responsible financial and accounting environment with formal leadership experience required. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation preferred but not required
Highest levels of ethics, authenticity, and integrity
Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, investments, audit, tax, strategic planning, forecasting, internal controls, risk management, and data analytics
Proven leadership skills, business acumen and strong people management skills
Strong computer skills in all Microsoft Office products; with superior Excel skills required
Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with the management team, employees, associated organizations, and professional service providers
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills
