CoSW is currently seeking a Dean Assistant of Finance. The position's major job responsibilities are as follows:
College Level Leadership
Help identify and evaluate strategic initiatives, guaranteeing the financial integrity and fiscal solvency pertaining to CoSW
Position is a key member of the college's strategic leadership team and serves as the primary liaison providing fiscal and strategic support to the departments and research units in a collaborative, inclusive, and consultative manner.
Serve as a member of the Dean's senior administrative team, contributing to, developing, and implementing strategic decisions
Represent the College and the Dean to the executive and financial management of the University
Sit on other University-wide teams and task forces, as needed.
Financial Operations
Direct/manage College-wide financial operations.
Design, implement, and oversee the College's budget, with operations, budget planning, capital planning, funding priorities, financial analysis, and managerial oversight responsibility.
Monitor financial performance and analyze implications for short-term and long-terms plans.
Work closely with University's Budget Office and Provosts' office to ensure understanding of the budget and its implications.
Provide oversight of the College's research post award administration process to ensure compliance with University and external agencies' policies related to all federal and non-federal sponsored programs.
Develop and implement policies to promote overhead recovery.
Supervision
Manage, contribute to, and support the professional growth and development of direct and indirect reports.
Assign staff to appropriate University task forces and committees as needed.
Directly supervise and manage the Faculty Affairs Administrator, with full oversight of the Business Office.
Indirect supervision of the Grants Coordinator and Business and Financial Analyst and research and center staff for finance and administrative responsibilities.
Strategic Initiatives/Special Projects and long-term Financial Planning and Reporting
In collaboration with CoSW leadership, develops long-term financial plans for the college that are in alignment with the strategic plan.
Conceptualize and conduct analyses associated with new program development, to include financial projections, need estimates, etc.
Conduct annual assessments of fiscal approach and make and implement strategic and policy recommendations for fiscal efficiency and resource management.
Prepare and communicate routine financial forecasting reports which will be used to provide information to inform strategic decisions and potential shifts in the college's financial approach.
Other duties as assigned.
