The Department of Economics and Business at Gordon College invites applications for a full-time, three-year, renewable appointment to Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor in the Practice of Finance. This is a non-tenure track position to begin August 2023. Rank commensurate with experience.
The Department of Economics and Business is home to approximately 200 students and offers majors in accounting, business management, economics, finance, and marketing. This position offers the opportunity to lead our established undergraduate major in finance and collaborate on foundational finance knowledge for other programs. Principal teaching responsibilities will include courses such as financial management, personal finance , investments, risk management and insurance, and finance electives related to the candidate’s area of expertise. The teaching load is 3-4 courses per semester.
Additional faculty responsibilities include advising students, service on college committees, and academic research or active engagement in the practice of finance.
The ideal candidate will have:
An advanced degree in finance or a related field;
Significant professional experience in finance, with CFA Charterholder preferred;
Potential for, or demonstrated excellence in, undergraduate teaching;
Evidence of, or the potential for, contributions to the practice of finance, including research or other professional activities; and
A personal commitment to Christianity, the Christian mission of the College, and the integration of faith and learning in the classroom.
