Handle and resolve finance inquiries, including internal and external.
Work with stakeholders to create and implement internal controls policy.
Perform multiple monthly revenue reconciliations and ensure the timely reporting of all monthly financial information.
Manage donor records and acknowledgements.
Work with Director of Finance to ensure a clean and timely year-end audit, including preparation and fieldwork.
Maintain vendor records and payments and manage the annual 1099s reporting process.
Handle the vendor/supplier registration process.
Contribute to team effort as needed.
Update and maintain a document retention policy that is GAAP, IRS, and other business standards.
Support additional areas of compliance with state governments and agencies.
Monitor and modernize recordkeeping with the expectation of office space downsizing.
Onboard and Offboard employees.
Maintain organizational insurance.
Monitor office equipment, supplies and services and purchases.
Provide project management support for grants and arrange for timely financial and programmatic reporting to be made to grantors.
Maintain a calendar of grant milestones for each grant held by the association and track fulfillment of each project milestone.
Support internal meetings, Board of Directors meetings and required scheduling.
Work with building management, including security, office cleaning, and other needs.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
A Four-year Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting from an accredited university or equivalent experience.
Three or more years of experience in accounting and administration.
Candidates will be expected to develop expertise in QuickBooks, Microsoft Office 365, Google Suite, Bill.com/Divvy, MemberSuite, Event Rebels/Cadmium, Zendesk and DocuSign.
Familiarity with various merchant processors.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy and demonstrate the ability to deliver high quality results.
Has a flexible work style with the ability to change direction of projects and strategies.
Willingness to assist as needed in a small team environment.
Ability to discuss and interpret finance data to non-accounting individuals.
Collaborative work style.
Experience in an education association is a plus.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to adopt to process improvement and new technologies.
In-office presence on a consistent basis will be required.
