Position Description: Reporting to the Dean and Associate Dean for Operations and Strategic Initiatives (ADOSI), the ADFA will provide leadership and oversight for SOD's administration including budget and finance and human resources. The SOD has an annual budget of approximately $80M, including $25M in revenue from clinical services and $22M in revenue from sponsored projects. The SOD is organized into 4 divisions with a total of 73 full-time faculty, 472 dental students, over 100 residents and fellows and approximately 208 staff. This is a key leadership role for a seasoned administrative and business executive who is skilled at managing a large, complex academic enterprise and who appreciates the importance of collegial decision making and matrixed leadership. More specifically as a key member of the dean's leadership team the incumbent will: Collaborate with the school's leadership in long-term planning and policy setting and implement organizational strategies and policies.
Emulate and establish a culture of inclusion, collaboration and accountability and positive relationships.
Achieve a general working knowledge of the university and a comprehensive working knowledge of the SOD.
Proactively identify issues within the portfolio of responsibilities and design solutions for problems, make recommendations, handle confidential matters and materials in a time sensitive environment.
