JOB SUMMARY
The School of Business at Spalding University is seeking a candidate academically qualified to teach economics, finance, and financial planning courses for either an instructor or tenure track assistant professor position. Successful candidates are passionate about teaching and supporting students, willing to contribute their interests and ideas for new and innovative courses and programs, eager to externally represent the school and its programs in the community, and have the interest and ability to engage in scholarly activities.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Teaching undergraduate and possibly graduate courses with credentials to teach economics, finance, and financial planning. Teaching responsibilities can be a combination of face-to-face and online courses.
Advising undergraduate students.
Active engagement in professional development activities.
Active engagement in School of Business recruiting and retention initiatives both in the internal and external community.
Serving on School and University committees.
Participating in faculty meetings, creative/scholarly activity, graduation ceremonies, and service appropriate to the university faculty member.
Qualifications
SKILLS AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Ph.D., D.B.A., Ed.D. or ABD in business-related field with the appropriate graduate hours to meet SACSCOC guidelines for teaching economics and finance.
Previous teaching experience at the university level is preferred.
INTERRELATIONS
Daily contact with administration, faculty, staff, and students.
Regular contact with the general public.
Must have an appreciation and respect for diverse populations.
