The Veterinary Medical Center (VMC) Director of Finance (DF) is responsible for VMC financial management oversight, which includes the departments of Large Animal Clinical Sciences (LACS), Small Animal Clinical Sciences (SACS), and Hospital Operations (HO). The position provides oversight administration of the LACS, SACS, and HO financial staff with direct report responsibility. The DF works closely with College budget director and the LACS, SACS, and HO unit leaders to facilitate VMC and clinical department fiscal activities. Fiscal activities encompass restricted gift and all unrestricted expense and income accounts including budgeting, expenditure and income analysis, accounts receivable oversight, financial reporting, cross training of LACS, SACS, and VMC financial staff, and implementation of University and College fiscal policy. The position has fiscal signatory approval authority for all VMC operating and personnel transactions in IRIS and on paper, but is expected to work closely with department heads and unit leaders to ensure effective VMC fiscal management.
