General Description
The Johns Hopkins Carey Business School invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position at the assistant or associate professor level in Finance. Both positions are untenured. The appointment will begin in August 2023.

The finance group consists of a collegial group of faculty members who are actively publishing in the top finance and economics journals. The group has varied interests across all areas of theoretical and empirical finance including asset pricing, corporate finance, financial econometrics, financial intermediation, FinTech, household finance, international finance, macrofinance, and market microstructure.
Qualifications
Qualified candidates must have the following:
A PhD degree in finance or related fields conferred by employment start date.
Demonstrated strong commitment to academic research in finance.
Associate professor appointments are subject to external evaluations under the Carey Appointments, Promotion, and Tenure process. Candidates should have a research record with publications in the top journals and a research pipeline that shows progress towards promotion to full professor with tenure.
Evidence of successful teaching in a graduate business school environment is required for associate professor applicants and is desirable but not required for assistant professor applicants who are just obtaining their PhD.

Three (3) references are required for all applicants. Current PhD students should ask all three referees to upload their confidential letters as their applications will be considered only after all three references have been uploaded. Advanced applicants may simply provide names of 3 referees. We will contact the referees to upload references only if the application moves forward.
Applications will be accepted until the position is filled. Interviews will be scheduled in Fall 2022 and Winter/Spring 2023 and during the 2023 ASSA meetings for fresh PhD applicants. We encourage advanced candidates to apply before September 30, 2022, for priority consideration.
