As the Director of Accounting you will be responsible for the fiscal year closing of the University's financial records, be the point of contact with external auditors, and the review and/or development of financial/budgetary analyses. This position directly supervises financial services staff and functions including but not limited to the indirect cost rate calculation and negotiation, service center rate establishment, external reporting, miscellaneous tax items, university cost issues, plant fund and fixed assets accounting, and cash management/DAS interface.

Minimum Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, auditing or closely related field plus 5 years of business experience including accounting, auditing and preparation of financial statements/workpapers. Supervisory experience. Strong verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills. Analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills. Knowledge of accounting principles and practices, and familiarity with Uniform Guidance, AICPA Audit Guide, GASB and federal cost accounting standards. Strong interpersonal skills for professional relationship management.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in accounting preferred. Accounting, budgeting and/or finance work experience in higher education. Knowledge of NE Board of Regents Bylaws, University policies and procedures. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) License is preferred.
