Position Details:
Summary of Duties:
This position serves as confidential Assistant to the Vice Chancellor of Finance and Administration. Acts on behalf of the VC as directed. Serves as the primary point of contact for both internal and external constituencies. Direct, administer, and coordinate internal operational activities in accordance with policies, goals, and objectives as they are established by the VC and the University. Provide input on policy and procedural matters. Independently coordinate, oversee, or perform various administrative support activities for the VC.
Required Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in business administration or other relevant field and four (4) years of progressively responsible management work experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
Experience representing and supporting an administrative officer in a confidential environment.
Demonstrated interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
Demonstrated customer service skills.
Strong organizational skills and a willingness to take initiative.
Demonstrated skills in Microsoft Office suite.
Experience working with executives and other high-profile individuals.
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with Washington State university's business/fiscal policies, procedures, and systems.
Familiarity with recruitment and hiring policies and procedures.
Demonstrated interpersonal skills with the ability to reason logically.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with faculty, staff administrators, alumni, and industry representatives.
