Zions Bancorp in Salt Lake City is now accepting applications for a Financial Analyst on our Public Finance team. You will be responsible for quantitative analysis related to structuring tax-exempt or taxable loans, leases and bonds, writing and responding to requests for proposals, processing transactional documents and administering special assessment project areas. Your position will require meeting deadlines, providing an integral step in the bond financing process, writing persuasively and seeing processes through from start to finish. This position interacts with lead relationship managers, project partners, and clients while financing projects, and may meet (in person or virtually) to document project needs and objectives that would later be translated into data charts, graphs, tables, presentations and written reports. This position prepares persuasive proposals to generate new and repeat business. Additionally, this position monitors, tracks, and presents market data for delivery to customers and use in analyses and proposals. Qualities that might predict success in this position include:

Job Description
Analyze financial statements and other financial documents or data of local governments to aide in the issuance of taxable and tax-exempt debt issues.
Analyze and identify existing debt issues for refinancing opportunities.
Structure debt issues to meet the objectives of issuing entities.
Track municipal bond market movements to aid in sound decision making.
Prepare other analyses and complex spreadsheet models as requested.
Make presentations, as needed, in public meetings (e.g. school board meetings, city council meetings, etc.).
Write persuasive proposals to prospective clients touting historic work experience, current skills and capabilities and talents which would make our team the best suited for a job.
Process transactional documents for deal flow in a timely and accurate manner.
Prepare analytical summary presentations for management, clients, and outside credit agencies.
Track special assessment allocation, billing and collection for repayment of bonds backed by special assessments.
Other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications
Requires a Bachelor's in business, accounting, finance, math, English, history, public policy or related field and some experience in accounting, financial analysis, budgets, writing or other related experience.
A combination of education and experience may meet qualifications.
Basic knowledge of financial analysis practices, principles, applications and analysis methods.
Must have solid math and analytical skills.
Ability to develop financial models, primarily in Excel.
Solid written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to clearly and succinctly express complex financial concepts both verbally and in writing.
Ability to prepare oral and written reports and presentations.
Ability to work in a heavily deadline-oriented environment.
Ability to work individually and as part of a team.
Ability to identify, research, coordinate and resolve issues independent of others.
Availability to travel at times within the State of Utah, and infrequently out of state.
