Job Summary:
The Finance Manager leads all Finance activities related to budgeting, forecasting, and analysis for the Kaiser Permanente Bernard J. Tyson School of Medicine. This includes developing, interpreting, and implementing financial concepts for financial planning and control. Performs technical analysis to determine present and future financial performance. Gathers, analyzes, prepares, and summarizes recommendations for financial plans, acquisition activity, trended future requirements, and operating forecasts.
Essential Responsibilities:
Provides FP&A finance support to the finance and operations leaders of the schools offices and departments related to efficiency, reporting, and metrics in a timely manner
Identifies and understands business challenges; proposes and creates solutions
Partner directly with other members of the KPSOM finance team and Kaiser Permanente FP&A/finance groups to collaborate on metrics, goals, and business reviews
Dives deeply into financial data and works with subject matter experts to provide additional insights
Works on projects and initiatives that impact the entire organization of diverse scope
Creates presentations that provide insights/analysis, identify required action items, and effectively frame decisions to be made
Identifies and researches variances to forecast, budget, and prior-year expenses, proactively identifying opportunities for improvement
Develops and maintains effective relationships with business partners and cross-functional teams at all levels of the organization.
Manages members of the Finance team
Receives assignments as objectives and determines how to use resources to meet these goals and schedules
Requires significant planning and direction setting to coordinate with other divisions or resources
Recommends changes to policies and establishes procedures that affect the immediate function
Monitors projects to ensure completion on schedule and within budget
Basic Qualifications:
Experience
Minimum two (2) years of management experience.
Minimum seven (7) years of finance, accounting, or related experience.
Education
Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, or related fields.
License, Certification, Registration

Requires full knowledge of own area of functional responsibility and working knowledge of another function.
Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
General knowledge of accounting/financial/operational principles.
Experience developing financial reports and metrics.
Interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with various management levels.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to a changing, fast-paced environment.
Strong Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills.
Superior attention to detail and ability to successfully manage multiple competing priorities while maintaining a view of the big picture.
Demonstrated ability to influence others through effective verbal and written communication.
Demonstrated ability to drive projects across an organization.
This role pays an estimated base salary of $127600 - $165110 plus incentive pay, robust benefits and other support for those who are eligible.
