As a Financial Strategic Partner at Oregon State University, you will be part of a supportive team that uses their knowledge of accounting and fiscal operations to have a positive impact on Oregon State University’s more than 30,000 students and 6,700 employees.
The Financial Strategic Partner will have an active role in and budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning to meet the needs of our campus, while ensuring compliance with generally accepted accounting principles, applicable laws and regulations, and university policy. This position applies expertise in financial analysis/reporting budget administration, and grant management, with an understanding of program needs, to provide support and guidance to college leadership, finance colleagues, and other members of the OSU community. This position will supervise a team of financial professionals in support of unit stakeholders.
Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree and:
Five (5) years of experience successfully managing financial operational activities of a large, complex organization.
Five (5) years of experience directly advising or consulting senior leaders on financial activities.
Five (5) year of experience managing or supervising financial reporting and accounting activities.
OR Ten (10) years relevant experience in place of a Bachelor’s degree
Qualified candidates will also have demonstrated experience evaluating and implementing internal controls in financial reporting and accounting operations, and/or three to five years of experience successfully managing financial operational activities (and/or three to five years of experience directly advising or consulting senior leaders on financial activities, and/or three to five years of experience managing or supervising financial reporting and accounting activities) demonstrated experience evaluating and implementing internal controls in financial reporting and accounting operations. Candidates should also have knowledge of federal and state regulations pertaining to financial compliance, generally accepted accounting principles, excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, the ability to research, evaluate and analyze information to make recommendations and a demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity.
